Chalet Ibron is one of four unique Zermatt residences (Chalet Castor, Gemini and Pollux are the others) located high up on the side of the Zermatt valley, just 200m from the Matterhorn Express lift station – so ski access is great.  A professional chef and experienced chalet hosts are included in the price, serving up gourmet food, an open bar, daily cleaning and unlimited wine, but if you prefer you can take the chalet self-catered.

Overview

Chalet Ibron is a rare gem, tucked against a beautiful hillside in Switzerland, the numerous balconies and terraces capture the surrounding snow-capped mountains in Zermatt. With 4 double bedrooms to sleep up to 8, this luxury chalet boasts some of the best views in Zermatt and the town centre and Matterhorn Express are nearby.

Chalet Ibron is a unique Zermatt residence and its spectacular location ensures the best of both worlds: spectacular views and easy access to slopes. On arrival, you have a bird’s eye view of not just the village but the surrounding snow-capped majestic mountains, encompassing all three of Zermatt’s ski areas. Chalet Ibron is located just 200m from the Matterhorn Express base lift station where a street-level tunnel leads to a lift built inside the mountain and at the top it is a 2-minute walk to the chalet. On a practical note, skis and boots can be left in the tunnel’s ski room.

The chalet is bathed in light which creates a warm and inviting space and has a wonderful blend of rustic and contemporary interiors. It feels very modern and has all the latest technology with flat-screen TVs, more than a hundred satellite channels, a feature jet black fireplace and geothermal heating to reduce the chalet’s carbon footprint. Each of the 4 double bedrooms are a delight and features flat-screen TVs and offers far-reaching views over the village below.

Should you choose to take the chalet on a fully catered basis a gourmet chef and experienced chalet host will be on hand to ensure your stay is perfect. Your day will start with a wonderful cooked and continental breakfast and on your return from skiing afternoon tea will be laid out ready for you to sample. On six nights of your stay, you are served a delicious 4-course evening meal, accompanied by an outstanding selection of fine wines and an open bar.

Chalet Ibron is part of a chalet group of four chalets called Les Perles. Two additional chalets sleep 8 guests each and another sleeps 10, combined these chalets can cater for up to 34 guests.

KIDS

Chalet Ibron is centrally located, close to both the village centre and ski lifts, however, its stunning hillside location does mean that it is not suitable for families with children in buggies or in need of constant childcare, as it is not easy to access.

The cool modern living area offers plenty of space inside with all manner of entertainment – TVs in every room, DVDs and board games.

Childcare can also be easily arranged by your concierge, so you get adult leisure time. Supper is as hassle-free as it gets, as the chef is happy to prepare child-friendly meals, served at whatever time in the evening suits.

For a more indulgent stay, the catered experience offers daily breakfast, afternoon tea, and gourmet dinners prepared by your private chef, plus an open bar and full chalet hosting. Whether you’re after flexibility or full service, everything is tailored to make your alpine escape effortless.

Location

The front door of Chalet Ibron is just a 2-minute walk (200m) from a lift carved into the mountain. Take the lift to street level, then you’re within another 2-minute walk of the Matterhorn Express Lift station. Zermatt town centre is a 10-minute walk away. An electric taxi will be called to transport your luggage or shopping whenever needed. Zermatt is a car-free resort, so access is usually via the mountain train from the valley below. We can always arrange for guests to be picked up by a private vehicle that will bring you all the way to Zermatt main train station. The nearest airport is Sion, 1hr 30 minutes away and Zurich and Geneva are 3hrs 30 minutes.
