 Having stayed at this beautiful luxury Val d’Isere chalet I can personally attest to its absolutely brilliant location, indulgent facilities and stunning cool, modern and airy design. They’ve considered everything here, from the relaxation area in the spa with sauna, steam room and massage/treatment room, to the state of the art sound system, both inside and on the terrace, to ensure your time is soundtracked perfectly.

Overview

Stepping out of the back door you can slip straight into your skis and head down the easiest section of a friendly blue run to the Olympic gondola making this a super ski-in/ski-out chalet for all levels of skiers. Within the beautiful Chalet La Tene, your every need is catered for, from relaxing in the hot tub or sauna to sipping a freshly poured beer from the tap or a glass of something stronger at the decadent hotel worthy bar in the lounge under stylish Tom Dixon lights. This is one of the best luxury catered chalets France has to offer.


If the weather is fair then not much will beat a post-ski freshly baked afternoon tea on the terrace, snuggled under blankets or in the hot tub watching the skiers hurtle past listening to your favourite playlist. Though perhaps your epicurean feast of a four-course supper in the wonderful dining room with its floor to ceiling windows providing an epic view of ‘La Face’ – the impressive black run may come close! Supper is accompanied by fine wines from the Aladdins cave of a wine cellar which is definitely worth a peruse with the chef before supper as this room is built into the mountainside and is partially formed of rocks making it a quirky addition to the chalet.    

Besides assisting with wine choices your chef will be busy providing breakfasts to set you up for a full day, baking all sorts of cakes and sweets for the afternoon tea and of course, carefully planning and executing every course for supper with panache and precision. You’ll of course be contacted before the holiday to discuss your meals and any specific likes, dislikes and dietary preferences

The location of this luxury chalet is perfect with the resort centre being less than a 10-minute walk – though with your drivers at hand you’ll not have to exert yourself unnecessarily and they will be willing to come and collect you and your skis from any apres-ski spot you’ve found. These can then be deposited in the ski and heated boot room to ensure toasty toes will be had on the slopes the next day.

There are 6 rooms spread over two floors of the chalet and all will provide a welcoming sanctuary, with sumptuous bedding, robes and towels, a TV and DVD player, luxury toiletries and access to a balcony or terrace, not to mention their own Sonos speakers. The ensuite bathrooms all use local stone and woods to create a soothing environment and you’ll never get chilled with the underfloor heating and heated towel rails however cold it gets outside.  All can be made up as twins making this a great chalet for corporate groups.

KIDS

Whichever floor the children decide to make camp they’ll have a blast. Each room provides the perfect spot for movies on the blu-ray DVD player or they can chill en masse and watch TV in the sitting room or spa area. Giggling in the hot tub you can all catch up on the days skiing exploits, tumbles and achievements before they are served a private early supper before bed, allowing you to relax into some adult time.

This spot truly has to be one of the best in the Alps, as its ski in/ski out spot is perfect for all the skiers amongst you. Close to town you’ll be able to use your driver to take you to any of the resort lifts (or bars or shops!) ensuring you enjoy all that Val D’isere has to offer. Flights wise, Chambery is a 2h 15m transfer and Geneva 3h. Please do let us know if you’d like transfers organised – it’s these touches we know make a holiday really work.
