Chalet Spencer is a contemporary ski chalet which has been lovingly built by two local brothers along with its neighbour the chalet Whymper. Specifically built to offer groups a luxury accommodation and perfect base to explore the Porte du Soleil ski area.

Overview

Chalet Spencer is a spacious, modern chalet which has been beautifully curated to offer a flexible ski holiday to suit all needs. The purpose built chalet has been designed to offer a relaxed atmosphere and luxury throughout when guests return from a day on the slopes. The outdoor hot tub and sauna are perfect for total relaxation.

The social space has high vaulted ceilings and windows cover all the walls to flood the room with light. The interior designers have cleverly combined a very modern style with certain older aspects such as the timber beams. A large glass fronted fireplace keeps the room lovely and cosy. There are also secluded seating areas such as the hanging chair with panoramic views from the mezzanine level.

Guests can choose to take the chalet catered or self-catered, with both service levels there will be chalet staff to welcome you,  a housekeeper at the beginning and end of your stay and 24/7 concierge service. Once your booking is made you will be sent a link to add on any other services you might wish to add.

Set in an elevated position in the centre of Chatel, the chairlift departure from the Barbossine ski area is 100 metres away. This area is linked to the Linga and Pré-La-Joux ski areas and then to the Portes du Soleil, offering 600 km of slopes.

Free shuttles pass in front of the chalets to take you to the centre of the village or to the Linga and Pré-La-Joux ski areas.

The Chalet Spencer was purpose built to accommodate a small group of family and friends or a larger group in its neighbour the chalet Whymper that can sleep an additional 14. Both chalets are contemporary design and built from wood, stone, steel and glass balconies. Inside there is designer lighting and furnishings which are beautiful. A large double height ceiling in the open plan living space upstairs, creates a wonderful social atmosphere. There is also a separate cosy TV snug which is ideal for kids.

Each of the bedrooms has been finished with fresh clean lines, state of the art technology including a huge TV screen in the sitting room, coffee maker in the dining rooms and the wonderful wellness facilities.

Each of the bedrooms has an en-suite bathroom, luxurious bedding and TVs with satellite channels. 

Both the Spencer and Whymper have been specifically designed to offer Luxury ski accommodation in Chatel, France. The two brothers whose family are from the resort know everything possible and would be happy to help throughout your stay. 

The chalet will suit most groups with families loving the intimate service level and flexible catering. All will love to come back to the chalet and soak in the hot tub with an apres ski drink, or warm themselves up in the barrel sauna with glass end and views of the incredible valley and mountains – amazing at sunset.

The owners and managers are experts in Chamonix, offering exceptional support and advice from the moment of booking. The dedicated in-house concierge team is available to help design the perfect holiday, assisting with airport transfers, lift passes, local mountain guides, and restaurant reservations. They also offer a private shuttle service to and from railway stations, airports, ski resorts, and throughout the valley.

In addition to the standard bed and breakfast service and complimentary afternoon tea, the chalet can accommodate requests for lunches or evening meals prepared and served on-site. The staff are committed to providing a bespoke experience tailored to guests' needs. Chalet Whymper is also well-suited for corporate events, with the capacity to host 10 guests in single rooms or up to 22 in double/triple rooms. Additional guests can be accommodated at a nearby sister hotel if needed. For corporate events, the chalet team can supply essential equipment such as mineral water, fresh fruit, notepads, pens, flipcharts, a large screen television, sound system, high-speed Wi-Fi, projector screen, and video projector. They can also assist in organising team-building sessions and activities tailored to the group’s preferences and requirements.
